Boundless world of books
Tashkent hosted Book Fair 2019. It was organized by the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Representatives of ministries and agencies, creative and public organizations, specialists of publishing and information-library sphere, writers, spirituality propagandists, students and schoolchildren were invited to the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
Director General of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Komil Allamjanov, Chairman of Uzbekistan Writers’ Union Sirojiddin Sayyid and others noted that strengthening of book reading propaganda in the country, increasing the sense of love for the book among the population, especially youth, creating conditions and opportunities for free and effective activities of publishing houses, printing enterprises take a priority place in President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s reforms.
The event is aimed at promotion of books and popularization of reading, studying world experience in printing industry, establishment of international relations between publishers, distributors of books, information-library institutions.
At the exhibition visitors can become familiar with activities of publishers, libraries, organizations engaged in distribution of books operating in Uzbekistan, as well as with activities of publishers in the United Kingdom, Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey. Embassies of China, Iran, Indonesia, Azerbaijan and other countries, as well as cultural centers and educational institutions presented interesting publications.
Interesting presentations, meetings with writers, poets, scholars, quizzes for schoolchildren, creative competitions and master classes were held on the first day of the exhibition.
