International treaty enters into force
On September 2, 2019, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs affairs, signed on September 13, 2018 in Tashkent during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Uzbekistan, entered into force.
The document regulates the procedure for mutual assistance on preventing, investigating and combating violations of customs legislation. Under this Agreement, the customs authorities of the parties provide each other with information about persons, goods and vehicles that are known or suspected to have been used or may be used in violation of customs laws on the territory of the countries of the parties.
The Agreement contributes to development and expansion of relations between the customs authorities of the two countries, as well as strengthening the normative-legal framework for cooperation in crossing of customs offenses.
